What are the general requirement to follow an MSc Program in SEAMEO?
MSc program candidates should have graduated from Sarjana Strata 1 (S1), TOEFL score minimum 450 and enclosure other documents as a registration requirement.

Is my educational background should be relate to health?
MSc candidates proven holder a 'Sarjana' (S1) degree in food and nutrition of from health/nutrition related sciences with basic knowledge in biochemistry and physiology of nutrition.

Is SEAMEO open to DIV (Diploma IV) graduated?
A new regulation from UI regarding a requirement for Master  Program mentioned that a Master Program candidate should have a Sarjana (S1) degree and not a Diploma IV (DIV) degree.

How about the registration flow?
Application for the MSc program are considerd only with the submission of the following documents:

• Copy of filled a postgraduate registration form (the form can be obtained from Postgraduate Program University of Indonesia)
• Filled SEAMEO Application form
• Curriculum Vitae
• Copies of academic transcript and certificate
• Certificate of proven proficiency in English language
• Copy of ID card
• 2 pieces of recent color photograph sized 3X4.
• Short statement outlining the reason wanting to attend the training program and plans for future professional carrier
• At least 2 letters of recommendation from previous academic institution

How do I get the registration form of UI? What if I line in other town, Can I asked the favor to buy the registration form and send it to me?
SEAMEO will send a registration form to whom line in another town so can not buy the form. Please to transfer the registration fee (Rp. 400.000,00) plus administration fee Rp 50.000,00 to bank BNI 46 UI Depok/Salemba R Gang & GBTM dan PH SEAMEO 000-6698214 with code: Educ Recruitment. What if my TOEFL score under 450?
SEAMEO conducts its program in English so participant should have a TOEFL score/prediction minimum 450. During the registration schedule SEAMEO also conduct an open house which one of the occasion is a test for TOEFL/prediction. The score can be enclosed as a registration requirement of MSc program.

Where do the recommendation letters come from?
A recommendation letters can come from an institution where the participant work or from the university before.

Are the recommendation letters should be enclosed with other document at the time I registry ?
Yes. The recommendation letters should be enclosed with other documents when you apply.

Is there any standard format from SEAMEO for the recommendation letter?
There is no standard format from SEAMEO about the recommendation letters. The recommendation letters can made by your institution.

May I know the detail tuition fee of MSc program in SEAMEO?
MSc program conduct in 4 semester which tuition fee   1.760 US$ / semester. There is a special rate for Indonesian self payer which Rp 8.000,00/1 US$ or Rp 14.080.000,00 / semester. The costs are also included field work, laboratory practices, and other facilities such as computer room, internet access, and library.

Is the research expense covered by the tuition fee?
Beside conduct MSc & PhD program, this center has provided research activities since 1976. We will cover overall or a half of research expense that proper with our research line.

Is there any scholarship for the participant?
SEAMEO provides scholarship for Indonesian and non-Indonesian participant. For year 2005, there are two scholarships for 2 scholarship holders from Indonesia and two for scholarship holders from ASEAN countries provided by SEAMEO central office Bangkok. We also offer soft loan for one participant from Indonesia which will cover a half of tuition fee. For the second year, all of MSc participant can propose scholarship to DAAD which coordinated by SEAMEO Jakarta - Bangkok. Every participant has a same chance to be a scholarship holder from DAAD.

If Yes, how to get them and is there any special requirement needed?
There is no special requirement to get the scholarship except the participant should no more 31 years old when they apply. We will conduct some procedure to select the scholarship holder based on test results which also consider the TOEFL score and interview.

What items will be covered by the scholarship?
Scholarship from SEAMEO Jakarta will be given at the first year for two Indonesian's holder: One participant will be covered the tuition fee and tuition fee plus living allowance for other one participant. Scholarship for second year from DAAD will cover tuition fee, research expenses, book allowance, health insurance, and also living allowance.

Is SEAMEO has a link with other funding institutions?
SEAMEO will facilitate participant who want to propose a scholarship to other funding institution, especially to assist an administrative matters. The participant can access a SEAMEO's scholarship books that provide all information about scholarship from national and international institutions. 

How do SEAMEO conduct its program?
The program starts annually in August. The first semester is devoted for all of the basic knowledge in community nutrition and its related fields, whereas the second semester is devoted for the field study. The second year of the program is concentrated on research thesis.  The total credits are 44 credits. All lectures are conducted in blocks of one to three weeks. Participants will attend lectures, discussion sessions, and seminars; carry out group work and laboratory work. The training program leads to a Master of Science degree awarded by the University of Indonesia.

Where do the lectures come from?
Lecturers are provided by staffs from the Center, the University of Indonesia, other academic institutions and professionals inside and outside Indonesia

What kind facilities provide by SEAMEO for the student?
The Center is well equipped with training facilities such as modern teaching aids, computer 24 hour usage and equipment for advanced laboratory analyses as well as library completed with up-to-date nutrition related international journals.
