Objective
MASTER OF SCIENCE IN COMMUNITY NUTRITION
The Master of Science in Community Nutrition Program provide skills in professional tasks required for determining the causes or determinants of nutritional problems and propose interventions. Participants of the Master of Science Program are from universities, research institutions and other institutions or individuals who need scientific oriented training program to enable them to carry out an applied human nutrition research.
The program starts annually in August. The first semester is devoted for basic knowledge in community nutrition and its related fields, whereas the second semester is devoted for the field study. The second year of the program is concentrated on research thesis. The training program leads to a Master of Science (MSc.or M.Gizi in Indonesian) degree awarded by the Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia.
Objectives
- The participants will improve their knowledge and skill on community nutrition
- The participants will be able to conduct qualified research in the area of applied human nutrition (formulate research questions, design a system of data collection and analysis procedures to answer such questions) and report the findings to an appropriate forum of scientific community as well as to the general community
- The participants will be able to identify and analyze the nutritional situation of a community, nation, and region and suggest appropriate plans for the implementation and evaluation of nutritional intervention.
